LE KLINT Carronade M – pendant light, sand

Sand-coloured Carronade designer pendant light When designing the Carronade series of lights, the Danish furniture and product designer Markus Johansson took his inspiration – as the name of the series suggests – from small cannons of the kind used on ships in the 18th century. The combination of matt sand-coloured steel, soap-washed oak wood and brass locking screws gives the light a unique Nordic charm. The lamp demonstrates its functionality with the lampshade that can be pivoted in the mounting bracket. It can be locked at any angle, so that the pendant light can not only light up a surface underneath it, such as a table or a counter, but can also show off items of furniture. The light was produced in house at the Danish company Le Klint. Founded in 1943 and with its headquarters in Odense, on the island of Funen, the company has made a name for itself thanks to its handmade lampshades produced using a special pleating technique, which are still a popular part of its product range today. Many lighting creations from several different renowned designers have been added over the years, so that Le Klint’s range today does not only include handmade pleated lampshades, but also features lampshades made of other materials.
