LE KLINT Krystal 161 – hand-pleated pendant light

Hand-pleated – the 161 designer hanging light with an LED bulb In 1969, the designers Hvidt & Mølgaard from Denmark designed the 161 hanging light and added it to the Le Klint product range under the Danish name Krystal. The diamond-shaped lampshade with a distinctly crystalline form is its most impressive feature. Like all Le Klint pleated lampshades, this lampshade was handmade in Odense on the Danish island of Funen, which makes every light unique. Handmade, hand-pleated lampshades are still the hallmark of Le Klint, a lighting company founded in Copenhagen in 1943. The origins of the company go back to the early years of the 20th century, when P. V. Jensen Klint designed and manufactured a lampshade for a paraffin lamp. From then on, the rest of the Klint family worked on developing the lampshade further. Tage Klint turned these craft skills into a business in 1943 when he founded Le Klint. Even today, designs from the early years of the company’s history, such as the “fruit lantern” or the “Kiplamp”, are in the product range. They are still very popular and still remain among the best-selling models. Energy efficiency class:A++
