LE KLINT Lamella 1 – designer hanging light, gold

Lamellae pleated by hand: Lamella 2 designer pendant light Le Klint, the Danish manufacturer, is known for its handmade pleated lampshades, which have been made by hand ever since the company was founded in 1943. The Lamella 2 hanging light, created by the two designers Hallgeir Homstvedt and Jonah Takagi, is also fitted with a typical lamella-like lampshade, as the name of the light suggests. The two desired were inspired by mushrooms, which often have lamellae on the bottom of the head. The bulky-looking Lamella lampshade is closed and consists of a lot of small longitudinal pleats that look like lamellae. The white, slightly glossy and translucent foil has been pleated and shaped by hand. The first lampshades were already being designed at the beginning of the 20th century by the architect and engineer P. V. Jensen-Klint, the father of the company’s founder Tage Klint, and the company was officially founded in 1943, when the first shop was opened in Copenhagen. Le Klint still sees itself as a manufacturer which combines traditional crafts with modern design. Energy efficiency class:A++
