LE KLINT Swirl 2 medium – pendant light, copper

Swirl 2 designer pendant light with a handmade plastic lampshade The Danish designer Øivind Slaatto gets a lot of his inspiration from nature, especially from snails. The Swirl pendant light also seems to be based on a snail’s shell with its twists and turns. His motto is that the light, shape and function of a light should always form a coherent whole wherever possible. He has obviously lived up to his own motto with the pendant light. In true Scandinavian style, Swirl has a timeless and functional design that, despite its simplicity and functionality, is not lacking in sophistication. The plastic elements that make up the lampshade are white on the bottom and copper-coloured on the top. Most of these lights are still hand-made in Denmark, as some of the complicated techniques cannot be performed satisfactorily by machines. Founded in Copenhagen in 1943, the company has produced designer lights by hand and with the utmost care ever since. Energy efficiency class:A++
