VERPAN Fun 1DM – pendant light, mother-of-pearl

Dazzling designer pendant Fun 1DM made of shell chains (sample goods) Not only optically but also acoustically the designer pendant light Fun 1DM from VERPAN knows how to inspire. Iridescent plates made of real mother-of-pearl, connected with small metal rings to form chains of different lengths, hang down from three chrome-plated metal rings and embody pure elegance not only as a light source but also as a spatial design element. The nickname “Mother of Pearl” refers to mother-of-pearl – a natural composite material that occurs mainly in mussel shells. A characteristic feature of mother-of-pearl is its special surface structure, which produces an iridescent sheen when exposed to light. It is therefore understandable why Verner Panton chose mother-of-pearl as the main material for one of his most important lamp creations. With its iridescent shine, the Fun pendant lamp is able to fill its entire surroundings. And even from an acoustic point of view, this lamp has a special charm, because as soon as the mother-of-pearl chains start to move, whether due to a draft or because the heat generated by the lamp alone causes them to vibrate, a harmonious play of sounds is heard. Verner Panton, who initially focused on the design of home furniture, became known, among other things, through the Panton Chair, which even made it onto the cover of Vogue magazine in 1995 together with Kate Moss. But Panton also made a name for himself with extraordinary works of light art. The Dane was an advocate of innovative design and loved to create not only furniture but entire room sculptures with design qualities by experimenting with colours and materials.
